Chirag stuns seventh seed

MUMBAI, FEB 2: Chirag Mehta (GD Somani) shocked seventh seed Rewant Dutta 6-4 in a boys under-16 pre-quarter-final tie of the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School tennis tournament at the Garden Tennis Academy MSSA-Castrol court, Azad Maidan, on Wedensday.

Chirag played a mixture of good attack and defence game and outmanouevred his opponent with deft placements and finishing points every time he was in a good position.

Ilyas nets winner

A penalty stroke conversion by Ilyas Khan in the 40th minute, enabled Fr Agnel Gymkhana beat Central Bank of India 1-0 in the Bombay Hockey Association Senior Division hockey league at the Mahindra Stadium, on Wednesday.

Hindu Gym on top

PJ Hindu Gymkhana scored 122-1 in reply to hosts Bombay Gymkhana's total of 150 on the first day of the two-day final of the BICHIP under-22 cricket tournament, on Wednesday.
