Aviation Ministry plans autonomous CAA
Private sector participation would be a major thrust area in the civil aviation sector with the government proposing to have a "conducive competitive regulatory framework" for encouraging entry and participation of private airlines.




Sensex hits new high, falls back
Bulls galloped to a new high on Indian stock markets but closed off highs on profit-taking. Sensex which zoomed to an all-time high of 5756.87 fell back later and closed with a gain of 38.54 points at 5,649.10.

Foreign tourists who are planning to visit India after February 15 might not get a room in big luxury hotels like Maurya, Oberois, The Park, the Taj Group of Hotel and Intercontinental. They might even have to settle for the sarkari standards of hospitality.
