Number of foreign mercenaries goes up in Kashmir
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

KHANNABAL (KASHMIR), FEBRUARY 9: Pakistan is encouraging and providing financial support to mercenaries to come to Kashmir that is the reason the number of foreign militants have increased in the valley, a senior army officer said here on Wednesday.

The number of foreign militants have increased during the last couple of months because Pakistan is encouraging them to come and provide financial support to carry out subversive activities in the valley, Brigadier Deepak Bajaj, GOC, Victor Force, said here. Militancy is now at low ebb in South Kashmir because over 45 militants were killed during January alone in the areas of operation of Victor Force in three districts of Anantnag, Pulwama and Badgam, he said.
