PUNE, FEB 9: Shobhana Samarth, the Sita of mythological films, passed away at a private hospital here today after a prolonged illness. She was 83 and is survived by two daughters, a son and seven grand-daughters, including Kajol and Tanesha. Her daughter, actress Tanuja, and son Jaideep were at her bedside when the end came a little before noon. Samarth had been ailing from cancer and her her condition deteriorated despite undergoing an operation 15 days back.
