Klusener booked for misconduct
PORT ELIZABETH, FEBRUARY 9: South African all-rounder Lance Klusener was handed a four-match ban, suspended for three months, after a verbal altercation with Zimbabwean Guy Whittall during a weekend match, officials announced on Wednesday. International Match referee Hanumant Singh also fined Whittall 30 per cent of his match fee, suspended for a month, for his role in the incident, the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCBSA) said in a statement. The pair were found guilty of bad behaviour at a disciplinary hearing in the south coast town of Port Elizabeth, where South Africa beat Zimbabwe by 53 runs in a limited-overs international on Sunday. The cricketers engaged in an angry exchange after Klusener dismissed Whittall. Zimbabwe manager Dave Kelly made an official complaint against Klusener about the incident. ``He has been suspended from participating in two Test matches and two One-Day Internationals, both of which has been suspended for a period of three months,'' the statement said.
