HYDERABAD: Hosts South Zone, by virtue of their first innings lead, retained the Vizzy Trophy as the four-day cricket final against North Zone ended in an exciting draw here on Wednesday.

Aman Rander (32) and Sangram Singh (9 n.o.) prevented South a direct win with a 37-run last wicket stand. Brief scores: North Zone 351 & 223 (Deepak Bhatnagar 51; Muttu Pandian 6-58) drew South Zone 452 (Badrinath 137, MR Srinivas 77, Rajat Bhatia 59, Khaja Obaidullah 49 n.o, Sangram Singh 3-75).
