Assam SEB staff too warn of UP-style stir
GUWAHATI, FEBRUARY 10: Employees of the Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) have threatened to launch an `Uttar Pradesh style' agitation in March next if the state government continued to pursue its move to privatise the ASEB. The leader of the joint action committee of ASEB employees Paragjyoti Dutta told enewsmen here that the employees would be compelled to take such an agitational programme if the government continued to adopt an ``imperialist, anti-working class and anti-people policy" in the name of restructuring the organisation. Stating the action committee had submitted a memorandum to Power Minister Hitendra Nath Goswami here on Thursday, Dutta said the employees wanted reform and restructure within the parametre of aseb but not dismantling it in the name of development inviting crisis in all respects.
