Ananda Marga may sue CBI in armsdrop case
MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 15: The Ananda Marga Pracharaka Samgha (AMPS), a non-governmental organisation, is contemplating to initiate legal proceedings against CBI for unnecessarily dragging its name in the Purulia arms drop case, Bhaveshananda Avadhuta, public relations secretary (central), AMPS said today. Talking to mediapersons in the city, he said the legal department of his organisation is looking into the issue. He said the Marg was unfairly being looked upon as an illegal organisation and during the last three decades, several proceedings including those relating to murder had been initiated against it. Even its founder P R Sarkar was imprisoned and later let off as the government could not substantiate its charges against him. "We are also demanding a separate judicial inquiry to find out all aspects of the Purulia case as the Calcutta High Court verdict on January 31 has thrown open more missing links in the case," he added. He said the Marga was mounting a campaign to remove the misunderstandingamong the people that it was an organisation indulging in violence. A high level delegation of Ananda Marga will meet the Prime Minister and Union home minister to appraise them and seek their intervention to continue the social activities carried out by the organisation.
