Strike cripples Bangladesh, 40 injured
UNITED NEWS OF INDIA

DHAKA, FEBRUARY 17: More than 40 people were injured on Thursday in the Bangladeshi capital amid violence related to a nationwide general strike disrupted normal life for the third day.

Shops remained closed and cars were off the streets, practically paralyzing the city.

The three-day shutdown, which started on Tuesday, was sponsored by a four-party opposition alliance calling for the resignation of the centre-left government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
