Strike cripples Bangladesh, 40 injured
DHAKA, FEBRUARY 17: More than 40 people were injured on Thursday in the Bangladeshi capital amid violence related to a nationwide general strike disrupted normal life for the third day. Shops remained closed and cars were off the streets, practically paralyzing the city. The three-day shutdown, which started on Tuesday, was sponsored by a four-party opposition alliance calling for the resignation of the centre-left government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
