Bhujbal points finger at Thackeray in ISI drama AURANGABAD, FEB 22: Adding one more dimension to the long-drawn, finger-pointing `ISI agent' drama, State Deputy Chief Minister Chaggan Bhujbal now accusses Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray of having met 15 persons who were booked under TADA in 1995. Bhujbal, who was in Aurangabad to address the one-day NCP Marathwada convention said the state government would soon initiate steps to implement the recommendations of the Srikrishna and Gandewar commissions. He however, refused to give details. According to Bhujbal, former chief minister Narayan Rane and BJP leader Nitin Gadkari, frustrated at having lost power, were now indulging in futile mudslinging exercises. ``I have been a minister for just about three months now, why did the duo not rake up the issue while they were at the helm of the affairs in the state," he asked. The minister reiterated that the NCP was firm on its stand that only natural born Indians should have the right to lead the country. The home minister also ridiculed the BJP-Sena charge that the NCP-Congress were politicizing the bureaucracy by resorting to abrupt transfers. ``To date we have transferred as many as 125 IAS officers, and no one made a fuss about it, but the moment we touch a few IPS officers, there is an uproar, now what does it suggests?'' he asked. Over ten thousand NCP activists, participated in the convention. Copyright © 2000 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
