Ex-minister moves Kerala HC to quash FIR
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

KOCHI, FEB 26: Former Kerala transport and forests minister A Neelalohitadasan Nadar, who resigned from the state cabinet following a complaint made against him alleging "sexual and official harassment", today filed a petition in the High Court seeking to quash the FIR registered against him on the basis of the complaint.

The case had been registered at Thiruvananthapuram on the basis of the complaint submitted to the Chief Minister by former transport secretary Nalini Netto.

The crime branch has already begun investigations.

The petitioner sought a direction to the state government to conduct an inquiry, if any, into the complaint by an agency from outside the state and "uninfluenced by the state government, DGP and IG (Vigilance), Desmond Netto, Nalini's husband."

Nadar wanted a direction to the state government against initiating any probe till the report of the proposed fact finding inquiry was received, and prayed not to conduct any investigation by any officer under the control of the state government and the DGP.

State government, DGP, Nalini Netto, who is currently Taxes secretary, and Desmond Netto are among the respondents in the case.
