Japan markets on boil, Nikkei at 31-month peak
TOKYO, MAR 1: Japan's markets went on the boil on Wednesday with stocks at a 31-month high, bonds up and the yen rediscovering some muscle amid hopes that offshore investors were channelling their money back into Japanese equities. The markets found inspiration in a host of factors, including an overnight rebound on Wall Street that helped revive faith in local high-tech stocks and a sudden crush to repatriate funds ahead of the end of Japan's March 31 financial year.
