Indian soldier caught selling Pak-made revolvers
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

MEERUT, MARCH 1: Police on Tuesday said they have arrested one Lance Naik and his two accomplices while they were trying to sell Pakistan-made revolvers here.

Senior Superintendent of Police R P Singh said here that the police, acting on a tip-off, laid a trap by arranging to purchase two Pakistan-made revolvers from Vijay Kumar, a Lance Naik, and arrested him. Three Pak-made, .32 bore revolvers were seized from Kumar. Two of his accomplices were also arrested, Singh added.

The SSP said Kumar admitted to having sold about 100 Pakistan-made revolvers in western Uttar Pradesh and during the recent assembly elections in Bihar.

Though all the five revolvers bore "fake seals" of Germany and Japan, they were actually made in Pakistani factories, the SSP claimed.

Bihar police have also been sounded about Kumar's possible links as he hails from the state, he added.
