NEW DELHI, APR 8: Former India all-rounder Manoj Prabhakar has alleged that a former captain and a manager were involved in throwing matches.

During a chat on a website, the transcript of which was made available to UNI, Prabhakar said no match could be fixed without the involvement of the team management, particularly the captain who can change the course of the game.

To a pointed question by one of the panelists if he was referring to Mohammad Azharuddin and Ajit Wadekar, the former all-rounder said: ``Yeah. I am quoting those (who were involved).''

On the issue of a former India captain declaring Rs 16 crore under the VDIS scheme, Prabhakar said, ``I am sure the source of the money is match fixing... Even Sachin (Tendulkar) can't afford to make Rs 16 crore in two-three years though he is the only player who can make so much money through the contracts.''

Prabhakar had in 1997 alleged that a teammate had offered him Rs 25 lakh to perform poorly in a one-day international in 1994. Prabhakar called for a CBI inquiry into match fixing.
