Brain behind Sena killings at Mantralaya -- Thackeray
PRAFULLA MARPAKWAR

MUMBAI, APRIL 25: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today reiterated that the godfather of the gangsters responsible for the spate of killings of Sena activists is camping in Mantralaya, the state headquarters.

"I never make allegations without evidence. In the present case also I have sufficient proof that the godfather of the killers is camping in Mantralaya," Thackeray said. On the continuing assassination of two party activists, Shivaji Chavan and Baban Surve, Thackeray said though the deaths were unfortunate, no one will be able to stop the activities of Sena by such terror tactics.

On his own security, he said that he was not bothered for it since he had never asked for the same. "My security is the responsibility of the government and therefore they should take necessary steps for the purpose.

Earlier, Thackeray had a closed door meeting with party MP's, legislators, and office bearers at the Sena Bhavan. Thackeray is understood to have taken to task his party workers over the deaths of Surve and Chavan.

"I don't want a pensioners' organisation, I want aggressive and firm activists who can face any eventuality," Thackeray told the party workers. The meeting also condoled the deaths.
