India, Russia join hands against terrorism
India on Friday announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit the country in October this year and signed with Moscow a protocol to enhance cooperation in defence and to fight international terrorism and religious extremism.

The Congress on Thuraday expressed disappoinment over Union Home Minister L K Advani's observations in the Lok Sabha on the internal security situation, calling them "inadequate" and "lacking in content".



Srinagar-Leh highway to be opened from today
The Srinagar-Leh National Highway has been thrown open for traffic from Friday. This was revealed at a joint meeting of the civil and military officers held under the chairmanship of the Transport Minister Ajatshatru Singh, here on Thursday.
