Govt keeps away from Bharatpur, still an open minefield
If Defence Minister George Fernandes did not visit the devastated villages around Bharatpur, some of which are just a few metres away from the surrounding wall of the ammunition depot, there must be a reason. There is a danger to life. The township has become an open minefield.




Congmen to protest Centre's decision to cut subsidies
Congressmen all over the State will be staging a day-long "dharna" at tehsil and district places on May 5, to protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Front Government's decision to cut food subsidies.




WB minister succumbs to burns, enquiry on
West Bengal Commerce and Industry Minister Bidyut Ganguly died of severe burn injuries at the SSKM hospital here early today, Health Minister Partha De said. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
