ACP's custody extended
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

AURANGABAD, MAY 5: The Police custody granted to assistant commissioner of police, Sadanand Wayse Patil, who was arrested by the anti-corruption bureau, while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a murder accused, was on Thursday evening extended by another four days, by special magistrate S G Tambe.

Investigating Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, D S Gadekar, while pleading for an extended PCR for Wayse Patil argued that, the accused had twice complained of a chest pain and had to be admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital here. (He was later discharged when a team of doctors declared him to be fit.)

Gadekar, submitted that the accused's hospitalization and the hearing of the writ petition that he had filed before the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court, seeking bail, had consumed most of the time of the ACB, leaving little time for investigations in the case so far.
