Attack on Christians condemned
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

May 11: Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) has strongly condemned the attack on Christians at Abhona village in Nashik district by members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. It is also demanding that the persons responsible for the attack be brought to book expeditiously and the minorities be given adequate protection by the police. The MPYC is also demanding that a judicial inquiry be initiated into the communal assault.

The attack on Christians in Nashik is the latest in a series of attacks on the community in the country after the Bharatiya Janata Party assumed power at the Centre during the last two years.

The vicious attack on Christians in Abhona village shows that the BJP's communal frontal organisations like the VHP, Bajrang Dal and the Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh have renewed their crusade against minorities, the MPYC states.
