Japan looking for 10,000 Indian software engineers

It said that US had relaxed its labour laws to facilitate import of Indian software engineers and even Germany had taken a similar decision. Shortage of software engineers was of crisis proportions, it said calling for urgent measures to get Indian engineers. A major Japanese firm, `Pasona', has already arranged to bring in the first batch of 50 Indian IT engineers in September and is likely to recruit 10,000 Indian engineers over the next five years.

By spring next year, Pasona would set up a centre in India to help the recruitment drive, the company said. It said the language barrier was a difficulty, to tackle which an education centre would be opened in India itself. The company had already negotiated with the Japanese Labour Ministry to arrange for special 'work visas' for the Indian engineers, it said.
