Christian prayer cottages torched in Orissa
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

PHULBANI (ORISSA), MAY 21: Miscreants have set fire to two huts, used as prayer cottages by Christians, at Kutiguda and Nuasahi in Kandhamal district, official sources said here.

Police had registered four cases in connection with the incident on May 13 and 14, but no arrests had been made, the sources said quoting delayed reports reaching here on Saturday.

The District Collector Ashok Kumar Meena and Superintendent of Police Gangadhar Sahu had rushed to the area under Kotagarh police station after receiving the information.

The DIG of Police (southern range), Biswanath Hota was also camping at the spot. The situation in the area was officially described as tense but under control.

The administration had set up a peace committee while armed police had been posted to the area.
