CBI designated judge among 75 judicial officers shifted
PATNA, MAY 21: In a major shake-up, the designated CBI judge S K Lal, looking into the multi-crore fodder scam, has been transferred along with 74 judicial officers in Bihar, according to a notification issued by the Registrar General of the Patna High Court. Lal has been shifted from his present assignment in Patna as the designated CBI judge trying the fodder scam to Bhagalpur as the Additional District and Session Judge, the notification issued by Registrar General B N P Singh said. Another special CBI judge, Patna, S K Sharma, has also been transferred as the Additional District and Sessions judge in Hazaribagh. The notification was issued by the Registrar General a couple of days ago after the standing committee headed by the Chief Justice met last week. Altogether 75 additional districts and sessions judges have been transferred by the Standing Committee of the Patna High Court presided over by the Chief Justice R S Dhawan. Besides, 63 sub-judges and 26 Chief Judicial Magistrates,16 Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrates and four Registrars of different civil courts have also been transferred in the State. Fodder scam cases in the court of designated CBI judge Lal had attracted media hype following alleged involvement of former Chief Ministers Laloo Prasad Yadav, Jagannath Mishra, former Bihar ministers, C P Verma, Bholaram Toofani, Vidyasagar Nishad and MLAs R K Rana and Jagdish Sharma in conspiracy angle cases of the multi-crore scam.
