LIC premium payments on the net soon

Calcutta, July 18: The Life Insurance Corporation of India is making efforts on the technological front to make premium payments by the policy holders through the internet, its current in-charge and managing director Y P Gupta said.

Inaugurating the metro area network and interass volumes, and compete with newcomers in the field of life insurance.

The LIC chief said that within August this year, Talore and Hyderabad through the Wide Area Network (WAN) to service nearly 1.79 lakh policy holders.

With this interconnectivity, policy holders would be able to premium payments anywhere in the designated metros. Gupta also said that LIC would also set up information kiosks in major intersections of different metros by December 31.

The metro area network for Calcutta and Howrah would connect 60 branches.
