Prices of vitamin B2, B2-5 phosphate lowered

JULY 18: National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) today reduced the prices of five bulk drugs including vitamin B2 and vitamin B2-5 phosphate.

The pharma pricing authority slashed the prices of vitamin B2 from Rs 2,800 to Rs 2,438 per kg in a price revision brought about after three years and of vitamin B2-5 phosphate from Rs 3,737 to Rs 3,451 per kg revised after almost two years, an official statement said here.

Revision in the price of bulk drug sulphamethoxazole which has been reduced from Rs 419 to Rs 330 per kg has been brought about after almost three years.

NPPA has also revised downwards prices of choloroquinephosphate from Rs 1,340 to Rs 870 per kg and pentazocine from Rs 42,126 to Rs 38,498 per kg, it said.

The revised notified prices will become effective within 15 days from the date of notification in the official gazette, the statement said.
