Kumble shines in win over Ganguly's team
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

LONDON, JULY 24: Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble captured three wickets for 29 runs as Leicestershire pevailed over title holders Lanchashire by seven wickets in the Norwich Union National League first division match on Sunday.

Leicestershire commenced the reply in a none-too happy fashion losing two wickets with only nine runs on the board but a 133-run third wicket partnership between A Habib (63) and BF Smith (54 not out) enabled them to romp home with 8.1 overs to spare.

Brief scores: Lancashire 162 (S Ganguly 58, WK Hegg 24; Kumble 3-29 & Ormond 2/25) lost to Leicestershire 165-3 in 36.5 overs (A Habib 63, BF Smith 54 n.o., Ganguly 1-28 & Chapple 1/22).
