PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

New Delhi, July 31: "Saaol Heart Programme" - claimed to be the country's first comprehensive, formatted, lifestyle oriented heart care advice on the internet and through correspondence was launched here today.

The programme, a project of Saaol Health Care and Research Foundation, a city-based charitable organisation, is aimed at educating and training heart patients on the various aspects of heart care and lifestyle modifications required to reverse and prevent coronary heart diseases, according to Dr Bimal Chhajer, the brain behind it.

Pointing out that there were over three crore heart patients in the country with at least 25 lakhs dying of heart attacks every year, he said, "the need of the day is change of lifestyle which should include zero oil food habits, complete education of the patients on the causes of the disease, regular exercise, yoga, meditation and stress management."
