AUGUST 28: Called the `Telecommunication sector reforms technical assistance project' the Indian Government has a contribution of another 10 million dollars.

The project, official sources say will result in more efficient use of automation and modernisation of spectrum management, faster assignment of frequencies and more effective monitoring of unauthorised operations, while the strengtheneing of TEC will provide better support to DoT for policy and licensing functions.
