Mumbai, August 28: Four goals, including a hat-trick, by Alan Fernandes enabled Victoria to score a thumping 7-0 triumph over Hindi Vidya Bhavan in the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School Under-14 IV-J Football League encounter at the MSSA-Castrol Schools Sports Centre ground, Azad Maidan, on Monday.

Agnelo nets three

Agnelo Fernandes slammed three as RKT Ulhasnagar trounced St Gonsalo 4-1 in an Inter-Collegiate Football League match at the St Xavier's ground, Parel, on Monday morning. Harshal Naik scored the other RKT goal, while Dihambar Negi reduced the margin.

RKT, Chinai, ICL and Siddharth qualified for the knock-out phase of the competition, which will be held at the Mumbai Schools ground on August 30.

Moolya, Lalita win

Harish Moolya (Mulund Com) and Lalita Mehta (Vivekanand) won the individual titles in the Inter-Collegiate Gymnastics (Men and women) Championships at the BPCA College, Wadala, on Monday.

Results - Men: 1 Harish Moolya (Mulund Com) 35.05 pts; 2 Tapan Gosar (Vaze); 3 Nitin Gurav (Vivekanand).

Women: 1 Lalita Mehta (Vivekanand) 22.83 pts; 2 Harpreet Bharaj (Ruia), 3 Tammanna Sayad (CHM).

Rane nets brace

Two goals by Rakesh Rane featured PD Hinduja's 3-0 triumph over Bangara Sports Club in a MDFA Division III-C Football League match at the St Xavier's ground, Parel, on Monday. Karan Sawant was the other scorer.

The Division I-C tie between Versova Village Boys and Indian Gymkhana and the Division II-B match between Jet Airways and St Paul's, was not completed due to inclement weather. There will be no games at this venue till August 31.

Basketball leagues

THE second UPL Weekend Basketball Leagues, organised by the Hoop-A-Loop Sports Management Group, will be held from October 7 to February 28.

Entries close on Thursday, August 31. No entries will be accepted after the due date.

Veterans' hockey

THE Mumbai Veterans Hockey Association will conduct their sixth Veterans Hockey Tournament for 35 years and above at the Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate, from September 1 to 3.

The local teams taking part are: Tatas, Western Railway, Customs, Combined Banks and a MVHA XI. Indian Airlines, Bhopal and a Chandigarh XI make up the outstation challenge. A host of Olympians and Internationals will be on view. The final will be played on Saturday, September 3 at 5.00 pm.

Aditya, Prachiti tops

ADITYA Mahagaonkar (Mithibai) and Prachiti Joshi (Mulund) won the singles crowns of the boys and girls, respectively, of the Inter-Junior College Table Tennis Tournament conducted by the Mulund College of Commerce on Monday.

Aditya overcame Eric Fernandes of the Mithibai 21-13, 21-17 while Prachiti sidelined Sheri R Crawford of HR Commerce 21-15, 16-21, 21-18.

Results: Team championship final (Boy's): Mithibai bt HR Commerce 2-0 (Aditya Mahagaonkar bt Amol Pandit 21-8 21-13, Aditya/ Eric Fernandes bt Amol/ Sujay Malik 21-18, 21-15).
