Panel wants higher bank exposure in stocks
In a move which is likely to raise eyebrows, the joint committee comprising senior officials from the RBI and the Sebi has recommended that the ceiling on bank's exposure in equities, convertible debentures and MFs should be increased to 5% of total outstanding advances from 5% of incremental deposits.
