Intrusion bid foiled along LoC, five militants killed

JAMMU, SEPT 23: Security forces killed five militants, including two Pakistani infiltrators, and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition in Poonch sector since last night, official sources said today.

Giving details, the sources said alert troops of Ace of Spade Division (ASP) challenged a group of armed militants, who had infiltrated into the Indian side along LoC at Sabragali area in Mendhar sub-sector last night.

Two militants were killed as the troops opened fire when the infiltrators tried to escape back to Pakistan, the sources said adding three AK rifles, nine magazines, 880 rounds of Pika gun, 15 kgs of RDX, 15 RPG rockets, 15 RPG boosters, 7 anti-tank rifles grenades, 15 timer devices, 15 bombs, 130 rifle grenades, 50 agl grenades, five hand grenades, one radio set and three water bottles, which were left behind militants were recovered from the spot.

In three separate encounters at Kalar Mohra, Bamnar and Majhiari in Poonch district, troops killed three militants late last night, the sources said.
