Shiv Sena corporator arrested for sexual blackmail

NASHIK, OCT 2: The president of the Nandgaon taluka Shiv Sena unit and councillor of the Manmad Municipal Council, Sunil Dattatraya Jagtap (32), was arrested for sexual exploitation of a married woman.

According to a complaint filed by the woman at the Manmad police station, Jagtap took her to Krishna Hotel, owned by him and molested her. She further alleged that he took obscene pictures of her and later started blackmailing her.

The woman stays in the Vivekanand Nagar locality of Manmad and is the wife of a lecturer. About a month ago, she had met the district superintendent of police Bhagwant More and narrated her story. She was advised to file a complaint. The police have recovered the pictures from Jagtap, who has been released on bail. The police have not ruled out the possibility of more women being sexually-exploited by Jagtap but, so far, none has come forward to register a complaint.
