Riches await India in Nairobi
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

NAIROBI, October 14: A great windfall awaits the Indians if they win the final of the ICC Cup knock-out cricket tournament here on Sunday. The Indians have so far collected $ 120,000 for their progress so far and will pick up another $ 150,000 if they lose or $ 250,000 if they win the final against New Zealand, a potential jackpot of $ 370,000 (approx Rs 2.54 crores).

Indians picked up $ 30,000 for the win against Kenya, another $ 40,000 for beating reigning World Cup champions Australia in the quarter-finals and another $ 50,000 for taking care of defending champions South Africa in the semi-finals. This is the biggest prize money ever on offer in an international cricket tournament including the last World Cup in England.

As against $ 370,000 to be won by India in Nairobi from four games, Australia had $ 300,000 in official prize money after playing eight matches to win last year's World Cup.
