Five more shot dead in Bihar

PATNA, Oct 15: In yet another violent incident, five backward caste goons were shot dead in a gangwar in village Bhojpur under Giriak police station of Nalanda.

According to the DGP K A Jacob, armed gangsters belonging to upper caste Akhilesh Singh factin raided the village and indiscriminately fired on the rivals. In the shootout three were killed on the spot and dead bodies of two were recovered from the nearby paddy field.

Five killed owe their allegiance to Ashok Mahato gang, who is the symbol of the backwards in the region of Nalanda and Nawada. Akhilesh Singh is Bhumiharand has enough clout in the area. The gangsters have been at loggerheads for quite some time and atleast 30 persons have lost their lives. Their encounters for supremacy has intensified during the last six months.
