Karan Doctor enters quarters

Mumbai, October 24 : Karan Doctor of Maharashtra, the top seed, entered the quarter-finals of the boys under-18 section in the AITA Adidas Junior Tennis Tournament at the Dr RA Ranade courts, on Wednesday.

Sudhir Dhruv of Karnataka posted a straight-set win over Maharashtra's eight seeded Agnel Gladwin 6-1, 6-3 while Delhi's Anjani Kant sprang a big surprise defeating second seeded Fatima Baig of Tamil Nadu 7-6, 7-5.Results - Boy's under-18 singles (Pre-quarters): Karan Doctor (S-1) (Mah) bt Aditya Madkekar (Mah) 6-0 7-6, Chatwinder Singh (S-6) (Chd) bt Kshitij Gujarathi (Q) (Mah) 6-1 6-2, Abedin Sham (S-7) (Mah) bt Rishi Behl (W-C) (Mah) 7-6(5) 6-2, Gavryl Fernandes (Mah) bt Vikrant Sane (W-C) (Mah) 6-2 7-6(0), Saurabh Kohli (Mah) bt Abhishek Tamhane (Mah) 6-3 6-2, Tejashwar Cheateri (S-6) (Kar) bt Rohan Dalvi (Mah) 6-4 6-2, Karan Rastogi (W-C) (Mah) bt Jaco Mathew (S-3) (TN) 6-2 6-0 and N Mukundan (S-4) (TN) bt Nehal Advani (Mah) 6-1 7-6(4).
