Easy win for Ghouse-Uppal, Bopanna-Kannan toil
Mumbai, November 21: The second-seeded Indian pair of Mustafa Ghouse and Vishal Uppal sailed through to the doubles quarter-finals on the second day of the US $ 10,000 ITF Futures Tennis Tournament at the MSLTA courts, on Tuesday. They routed their Finnish opponents Lauri Kiiski and Tuomas Niskakangas 6-1, 6-4 in an hour and 22 minutes. The other Indian pair, who made it to the last eight stage, was the duo of Rohan Bopanna and Vijay Kannan who came from a set down to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 against Manoj Mahadevan and Maha Rishi Sridhar. Mumbai boy Kedar Shah and his Irish partner John Doran also made the quarter-finals with a 7-6 (10-8), 6-3 win over the Indian pair of Nitin Kirtane and Saurav Panja in one and a half hours.
