PM vows to go ahead with Ramazan ceasefire initiative
Brushing aside protests by ally, Shiv Sena, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on Thursday vowed to go ahead with his Ramazan ceasefire initiative in Jammu and Kashmir, a decision he described as a "calculated risk".




States seek Centre's help in nabbing Veerappan
Shortly after launching the Special Task Force operations, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka on Thursday sought the Centre's help in nabbing forest brigand Veerappan as Home Minister L K Advani assured all assistance by way of manpower and scientific equipment in the venture.




ISI active around Bengal Naval bases -- Commodore
ISI, the foreign espionage service of Pakistan, is active in the area around the naval base in Calcutta, Commodore R.K. Das, Naval Officer-in-Charge, West Bengal, admitted on Thursday.
