Give free education to all -- Satya Sai Baba

PUTTAPARTHI, NOV 23: Satya Sai Baba on Wednesday advised the Centre to provide free education at all levels to make the system of education more meaningful.

Speaking at the 19th convocation of the Shri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (Deemed University) Baba, who is also Chancellor of the University, said that, the people from all the section of the society could make use of the education, if, that is offered free-of-cost.

The Government spends a large amount of money on education, but that has not yielded desired results. Most of the educational institutions were just involved in making money. This had not led to good results from the present educational system, he said.

Sai Baba advised Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Murli Manohar Joshi, who was present at the convocation, to take up the matter with Prime Minister A B Vajpayee.

Sai Baba said that the Satya Sai Institute not only offers free education to students from all parts of the country and all sections of the society, but it also gives them scholarships and other facilities to encourage poor students from taking up education.

Baba advised the students, who received degrees and medals at the convocation, to serve the society. Education is not just for living but it is for life, work for the development of society and others welfare, he said. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu, Vice Chancellor of the University, S V Giri, former Union Ministers S B Chavan, VHP leader Ashok Singhal, students of the Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning and large number of devotees were present on the occasion.
