Loss due to cyclone estimated at Rs 300 crore

PONDICHERRY, DEC 4: The Pondicherry Congress committee president, V Narayanaswamy told newsmen here today that he had brought to the notice of the Union home Minister L K Advani the extent of loss and damage caused to various sectors in the November 30 cyclone.

He said the loss was estimated at Rs 300 crore and he had sought an interim relief of Rs 30 crore from the centre.

Narayanaswamy said a central team would visit the cyclone-ravaged areas soon.
