Ban on beauty contests triggers controversy
Ban imposed on beauty contests by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Rajnath Singh has triggered off a major controversy. While the Sangh Parivar has not only wholeheartedly supported the ban on beauty contests but also demanded a similar ban on birthday cakes and honeymoons.




Delhi visits a part of Hurriyat's J&K diplomacy -- Umar
In a tacit reference to the heavyweight Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat leader Umar Farooq has said that visiting the Indian capital individually or in groups was a part of the Hurriyat diplomacy to mobilise support for resolution of the Kashmir dispute.




14 railway police officils arrested for demanding bribe for a non-existant crime
For the first time in the history of the Anti Corruption bureau, 14 railway police officials were arrested for taking `bribe' from commuters for not carrying luggage in the luggage compartment of the local trains.
