Indians floor high flying Thais
India finally got to taste victory in the Bharat Sanchar Asia Cup tennis tournament. After two days of isappointing show by both men and women, Indian men on Thursday got past their less threatening pponents Thailand 2-1 while Indian women enjoyed a rest day.




Anand earns hard-fought win
Viswanathan Anand scored the first win in FIDE World Chess Championships final, but not before being made to sweat it out by Alexi Shirov. In the second of the six-game final, he wore down Shirov in 64 moves and over six hours to log the first win of the final.




Final finishes in thrilling tie
The glorious uncertainties of cricket once again came to the fore as the pulsating Deodhar Trophy final between Central and South Zones ended in a tie on Thursday with both teams declared joint winners.
