Six persons killed in road mishap
NASHIK DEC 26: Six persons were killed and three others injured in a freak accident involving four vehicles on the Mumbai-Agra nationall highway in the Kasara ghat on Monday evening. According to the police, the driver of a truck (MP 23 3834) proceeding towards Mumbai with steel coils lost control over his vehicle and rammed into a Tata Sierra (MH 15 R 9900) coming from the opposite direction. In the process, both the truck and the Tata Sumo fell about 100 feet deep into a gorge. Consequently, six persons (five from the Tata Sumo and one from the Ambassador) were killed. Four of the six victims have been identified. Their names were given as Radhakisan Dagdu Bhor (38), his wife Rohini (35) and son Gaurav (8), Rajaram Bhaguji Gawli (55). The driver of the Bhor family's car and one more deceased is yet to be identified. The police have said that the driver of the truck could not control the vehicle which was going downhill in the ghats. Malfunctioning of brakes of the truck is suspected to be the reason behind the accident. The accident disrupted traffic on the highway for sometime.
