Anand's Spanish villa to get hi-tech satellite receiver
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

DEC 30: Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand's triumph in Tehran has another silver-lining as co-sponsors of the World Chess Championship Eurostar will be spurcing up his Spanish home with the state-of-the-art digital satellite receiver.

The receiver with Open TV Technology facilitating viewing of both free-to-air and encrypted channels, was one of the prizes that Anand was gifted after he became the 15th World Champion.

Eurostar Communications, a major player in the Direct to Home (DTH) industry, presented Anand with a plaque on his achievement in Tehran.

``To give Indian Sports a major boost, Eurostar decided to sponsor the event despite the fact that DTH technology is banned in Iran,'' a release said here.

``Anand requested us to deliver the same (Digital Satellite Receiver and relevant accessories) to his Spanish residence,'' it added.
