ACB on track for impressive summer box office Sydney, December 30: Australia's demolition of the West Indies this summer is set to become the most financially successful Test series between the cricketing rivals for the last decade. Despite the one-sided nature of the series, which Australia lead 4-0 heading into the final Sydney Test from Tuesday, crowd numbers are expected to surpass the West Indies' last two tours to Australia. Just under 275,000 fans have attended the Tests in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne, putting the series on track to topple the aggregate crowd figures of 359,000 set when the West Indies last toured here four years ago. With healthy ticket sales in Sydney for the opening days of the Test, the Australian Cricket Board could justify its decision to retain five-Test series against the West Indies and England. Crowd numbers in Sydney only had to equal the 107,000 which attended last year's SCG clash between Australia and India to guarantee an impressive summer box office.
