Bash with a bang!

THE mercury on New Year’s Eve might have dipped, due to untimely showers in the city. But the atmosphere at Le Royal Meridien bash was certainly hot. As soon as you entered, you were greeted by a gun-toting guy (masquerading as a don) who blindfolded you at the gate and led you to the ‘mafia zone’.

And soon you stepped into Chancellor, the banquet room, equipped with the requisite dancefloor. The DJs played peppy numbers to whip up the New Year fervour. With mind-blowing music and powerful lighting making the perfect backdrop, the young mingled with not-so-young to set the place swinging. But the real attraction was at the poolside, Flames, where an Egyptian belly dancer, Amman, set the floor on fire.

As the clock struck twelve, fireworks exploded, as everyone cheered. The Lambada Band from Pune launched into hit pop numbers, even as couples swivelled. Wine flowed fast and food was in a plenty. And, asexpected, the party continued into the wee hours ofthe morning.
