Haryana chief secy promises people-friendly admn
MUKESH BHARDWAJ

CHANDIGARH, JAN 1: New Haryana Chief Secretary Lalit Mohan Goyal, who assumed charge today, has vowed to provide a people-friendly administration.

Talking to The Indian Express after taking charge, Goyal said he would ensure that officers in the state not only made themselves accessible to the people but also acted promptly to redress their grievances. There would be no delay in imparting justice, Goyal said.

He has his task cut out for him, though. Haryana has to keep pace with speedy development, especially in the fields of information technology and agriculture, which constitute the backbone of its economy, he said. Having spent quite some time serving in the state, Goyal hardly needs time to list priorities. ``Transparency in the administration will solve all problems and the emphasis will be on providing an honest and accountable administration to the people,'' Goyal said, adding that a message will be sent out to all district headquarters to extend a responsible and responsive administration.

Goyal took charge this morning from his predecessorm Vishnu Bhagwan. The new Chief Secretary will also look after the departments of Protocol, Hospitality, Training, Grievances, Vigilance and will also be the secretary in charge of departments of Planning and Coordination.
