Express news service

Mumbai, January 7: The selection for the under-19 Indian team will be done on January 8, a day before they start off the three Test series against the visiting England under-19 side at the Wankhede stadium, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India joint secretary, Jyoti Bajpai.

At a meeting organised by the Sports Journalists Association of Mumbai to welcome the visiting team, Bajpai also brushed off the media reports that six players have been found overaged from the Rest of India team that played a practice match with the visitors and more names are expected from the remaining lot of probables. All the probables were to undergo medical tests to that effect on Sunday.

Meanwhile Graham Saville, the manager of the England under-19 team claimed that the tour was a learning experience already and the boys were looking forward to the series, sponsored by Central Bank of India. Coach Tim Boon also said that the team was looking forward to learn some of the ‘wrist magic’ in spin bowling and batting.
