Hurriyat visit no deviation from Kashmir stand -- Pak
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

JAN 16: Pakistan has said its proposed talks with Hurriyat leaders should not be taken as any deviation from the country's original stance on the Kashmir issue.

``The Kashmir issue must be addressed in the light of the UN resolution, involving the people of Pakistan, India and Kashmir,'' Maj Gen Rashid Qureshi, spokesman for military ruler General Pervez Musharraf, told reporters in Karachi on Monday.

Asked about the agenda of the proposed meeting between Hurriyat leaders and Pakistani authorities, he said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the competent authority to answer this question. Qureshi said Pakistan would welcome the Hurriyat delegation as it was the true representative of the Kashmiri people.
