Nikhil Chopra exonerated
Press Trust of India

Chennai, January 18: Off-spinner Nikhil Chopra was today exonerated of the charges of his involvement in the match-fixing scandal by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Chopra, against whom CBI found no substantial evidence of involvement in the scandal, appeared before the Board’s disciplinary committee which let him off after going through the internal inquiry report submitted by its watchdog K Madhavan and hearing his explanation, according BCCI sources.

The disciplinary committee, which also heard former BCCI President I S Bindra, was, however, unlikely to give its verdict on the Punjab Cricket Association issue today, the sources said.

Bindra, also the President of PCA, was asked to explain before the disciplinary committee, his ‘outburst’ against the Board.
