Sex-workers raise Rs 25,000 for Gujarat
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

NAGPUR, FEB 2: Moved by the plight of the earthquake victims in Gujarat, commercial sex workers from the Ganga Jamuna locality of the city took it upon themselves to collect funds without bothering to know the legalities involved.

They carried the donation box in those infamous alleys and collected around Rs 25,000 under the banner of Ganga-Jamuna Bahu-uddeshiya Kalyankari Sanstha and formally handed over the money to Collector Manu Kumar Shrivastava today.

While collecting the donations, they were oblivious of the fact that they are supposed to secure a prior permission. However, looking at their well-intentioned campaign, the Collector decided to make an exception and accepted the cheque for the funds collected.
