Six injured in mob attack in Nasik town

NASIK, FEB 13: Trouble started after one Manjoor Akil went to the medical shop of Jitendra Kantilal Agarwal who asked him to pay his earlier dues of Rs 130, police said today.

Manjoor allegedly abused and manhandled Agarwal and later returned with a mob of about 24 people who attacked Agarwal's shop and house with lathis and iron bars injuring six people.

The shop and house were damaged in the attack.

The injured were admitted to Chandvav rural hospital.

Manjoor and another person have been arrested, police said.

Tension prevailed in the area today with shopkeepers in Chandvad downing their shutters and demanding arrest of the culprits.

Police said security has been beefed up and the situation was under control.
